Granny Globetrotters
Graphic system designed for Granny Globetrotters, a travel quiz produced by The Times. Each episode features two British grannies battling it out in a roulette-style quiz on culture around the world.
The title ‘Granny Globetrotters’ creates a playful connection with the famous basketball team ‘The Harlem Globetrotters’ and, more broadly, hints at the bold, energetic aesthetic often seen in the NBA’s graphics. The visual identity builds on this concept, drawing inspiration from sports streaming graphics and video game interfaces, blended with a news-style aesthetic.
Using framed layouts, trading-card-like graphics, and pixelated digital transitions, the graphic package creates a cohesive set of assets that support the episode throughout — from title graphics to question cards and stand-alone visuals highlighting key moments like ‘start,’ ‘draw,’ and ‘game over.’
